Kirsten started dance at the age of 9 and immediately fell in love with ballet and never swayed from that passion. She studied at the Alberta Ballet School in Calgary and spent two summers at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, training in ballet, pointe, character dance, contemporary, and jazz. At the age of 19 after moving to BC, Kirsten began teaching at the Academy of Dance in Kamloops and had the wonderful opportunity to attend the teacher training course at the National Ballet School in Toronto. After teaching in BC for almost 10 yrs, she returned to Alberta and has been teaching in Red Deer and area since 2004. She feels very proud of the development of her students and the success of our school. We've seen some of our students move on to opportunities at some of Canada's best dance schools, including Royal Winnipeg Ballet and School of Alberta Ballet.
Rhonda began dancing at the age of two and has never stopped. She has studied and continues to study many styles of dance. Rhonda owns and operates the Rhonda McCulloch Danceology that began over 30 years ago. Her greatest thrill is to see the growth in self-esteem and self confidence dance brings to her students.
Rhonda is pleased to be able to provide quality dance instruction in a fun and non-threatening environment. Rhonda will be teaching Tap, Jazz, Acro and Hip Hop at Penhold School of Dance.
During her youth and teen years Angela studied and completed B.A.T.D. exams in Jazz dance and played flute. She continued her passion for music by playing and instructing flute and worked toward completing her Royal Conservatory Grade 3 History and Theory as well as Counterpoint exams finishing with Honors.
Further into adulthood Angela jumped back into dance, training for two years in both Ballet and Contemporary that included performance experience.
Angela has a passion for life-long learning and believes that everyone, and especially children, should take advantage of every opportunity to dream, explore, create and play as they learn. Nourishing children’s sense of wonder and curiosity through the Arts facilitates their natural desire to learn.
Most recently Angela has completed Preschool dance workshops and looks forward to sharing her love of dance and music with her students.
Jada began dancing at the age of 7 with JDs Fabulous Feet as a recreational dancer and started competing at the age of 11. During her time as a competitive dancer she was able to take opportunities to travel to Disneyland, Disney World, Las Vegas and London. At the age of 14 she started assisting younger competitive groups and instantly discovered her passion for dance education. During her time as a competitive student she trained in Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Musical Theatre. Jada started competing with Musical Theatre solos at 15 and received high marks and awards for her individual song and dance performances. After graduating from Notre Dame High School in Red Deer, she went on to teach 2 competitive seasons with JD’s before their unfortunate close due to COVID-19. She then taught as the musical theater director at Illusion School of Dance for a season. At the age of 21 she went to college for hairstyling and now works as a hairstylist at Copper Lane Hair Studio in Red Deer. She also performs with The Codettes YQF, having multiple shows in Red Deer, Edmonton and Calgary. Excited to continue her lifelong passion of instructing the next generation of young dancers, Jada will be starting as an instructor with Penhold School of Dance in the fall of the 2024-25 dance season.
Cristina began dancing at the age of 4 starting with tap lessons and quickly fell in love with dance. Growing up she danced competitively in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and musical theatre. Her dancing has taken her around the globe, attending competitions and conventions in Vancouver, New York, and the UK. After graduation, she was able to gain professional experience, working on various cruise ships as part of their show teams. Upon returning home, she continued her dance journey as a teacher, working for several studios throughout Central Alberta, teaching a variety of genres. She had previously taken a hiatus from teaching in order to complete a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Calgary, and raise her 2 children.
Cristina has recently completed her Module 1 certification in Acrobatic Arts, and is excited to bring her experience and passion for dance to the families of Penhold School of Dance for the 2024-25 dance season.
